Really need someone that knows what to do but this worked a treat for me after suffering for months. Sit down and cross legs with bad foot on top. Relax and feel just above/below knee more likely below inside top of calf on me. Should be able to find at least a couple of small hard lumps that hurt fairly bad when you press hard. Press them hard/ massage them until they disappear or at least less prominent. Do it at least 3/4 times a day first 2/3 days together with exercises and you should start to feel improvement.

Why would rubbing the top of the tibia help the heel?

You can get an injection into the heel, it didn't help me but it works for a lot of people, I suffered with it for years ,the only thing that helped in the end was changing jobs, I still have it ,but can cope with it,

I had this after doing a lot of cycling then going full tilt at the new cricket season.

Worked out that it was probably due to the cycling 'shortening' my calves, and me not doing any stretching afterwards. I did a lot of calf stretches, and other leg flexibility stuff, and the problem went away.

Hope it clears up soon. It's a right pain!

My son who is personal fitness trainer told me to run my stocking soled feet over a golf ball while sitting down so not to apply too much pressure. Hurts to begin with but evens out the lump. Just keep doing it regularly

I had it for couple of years, could not get rid of it, tried allsorts, was at Doctors several times with it,

last doctor gave me "Naproxen" it went within a week, take 2 a day with food as needed, I am on 1 tablet every other day now for a long time, and no bother with it now, if it did come back I would increase the dose, but ok for now, yet if I miss for a few days, it starts to come back

I had it. Got told by a friend who is a physio not to walk around on hard floors in just socks and to avoid wearing any footwear that doesn’t hold your feet from moving about. So avoid wellies, slip on boots and even slippers. Instead wear boots/footwear that lace or fasten to positively hold your feet. This stops the small amount of movement that constantly aggravates it and stops the inflammation going away.
I did what he said and it went away in a few weeks, having had it for over a year. Still stick to this type of footwear and fingers crossed it hasn’t come back.

Maybe it's gout from all the wine?

I had this as a kid, constant pain in my heels and painful walking.

In those days I was advised to avoid trainers which I think was odd.

I ended with shoes/boots with relatively firm soles. Don’t know if that helped or made it worse but may be worth a try.
