This was my cover after OSR - now full row zerotill wheat drilled about 2 weeks ago


Without doubt worthwhile this year (passed the Labrador height / value test !) - seed was sub £10/ac

Fantastic growth there, but do you think the oats might increase the risk of BYDV? Therefore is an aphicide planned or not?

I often see BYDV on the upper leaves of my oats in the cover crops, this year seems an exception though.

Doesn't seem to cause an issue, have had big covers of volunteer oats the last few years and no problems

Hi Clive,
Impressive cover crop. Do you glyphosate it before or after drilling or can you get away with no spray given the stage of those oats?
