@Fraserb has an extreme table, I'm currently looking myself and having spoke to them I'm keen, going to look at one fairly local when I get chance. Be as much a toy as anything as I do get some bits cut local but as you say be nice to just make things a bit neater than hand cutting myself

As @mx110 says I have an extreme table, all my stuff is cut with it. When I was looking it was by far the best setup for my needs, buying the complete setup from one place was a deciding factor as at least theres only one place to complain to when it goes wrong(mine hasn't been any bother). It helps with any setup issues you have as there's plant of others with the same setup to offer advice.

You need to be able to do a bit with a computer to make it work but it really isn't difficult, going to see someone with one would show you the basics.

is it inkscape your using for your table then into sheetcam? I've been watching a few you tube lessons and playing/messing a bit with arty bits on there, any work jobs i've had cut out in the past i've done the drawings on draftsight.

though a plasma table is good for some urgent jobs, i find it far more economical to get things cut by a laser cutting firm. usually works out cheaper as you only pay for the steel used rather than a whole sheet, and the finish is incomparable to a plasma, so save a fortune on grinding/prepping. would still quite like a table as a bit of a toy though 😂 what sort of money are the extreme tables? do they take a full sheet?

I use inkscape for the arty stuff and emachineshop for technical stuff.

To continue the thread I’m looking into cnc plasma as well. I have a specific requirement to cut lots of holes in 100x50 box so i think that rules out some of the machines at the lower end of what’s available.
Swift cut have a demo day on the 9th of December so will have a good look at them then. Need to know they are capable of doing what I’m after.

I dont do many holes into box section but have done a few and they're relatively straight forward
