Certainly is an issue...
I have 3 Moores type which were bought last summer cracked over the last winter, and I wouldn't say it was that frosty!!
So far the agent and Moores haven't responded to my complaint
I had a load of circular Moore troughs years ago, nearly every one cracked, some before we had a frost. Didn't want to know then either.
Frost or Moore?

I think Moore are going to get a frosty letter from me soon.....
Their literature does say to empty them in harsh weather - unfortunately outwintered cattle still need water!

I have heard many an unhappy person with complaints against there troughs! Unfortunately it gives concrete water troughs a bad name in general.
On this forum we have one person with 2 damaged 12x4 tanks that were obviously damaged on the de-mold. This was before I took over and annoyingly the person in charge back then, ignored the fact they were damaged resulting in us getting bad feedback. This does not happen anymore!

Ordered a few concrete ones today, £380 for a 400 gallon trough 10 x 4, was quoted £321 for a 250G round plastic. They’re 1.7 tons each so are going to take a little more fitting... see how it goes I suppose!
Late onto this but where did you get your concrete troughs from Keith? Also in Cumbria. Cheers
