Last week we fitted a replacement plate cooler
The water is fed from the volume washer pump to increase flow. Since the change we are constantly splitting diaphragms.
The volume washer supply is via a 32mm pipe, which fits into a 1” fitting on the solenoid valve.
The only difference from the previous plate cooler is that we reduced from 32mm to 25mm to the valve
The water outlet of the cooler is open to a tank
Why are the diaphragms splitting ?
TIA

Don`t want to tell you how to suck eggs :D but
Usually reckon on 3 litres water / 1 litre of milk.
So if you know how fast your milk pump works you can work out your water flow requirement.

I suspect your volume washer pump will be pushing far more water through than needed.

There’s no accumulator vessel

with regards to volume of water to milk, we are the same as previous
the only exception is that we aren’t reducing from 32 down to 25 mm before the valve

Try putting a lever valve in the 32. Sounds like your making the plate cooler do the restricting which might be upping the pressure at the diaphragm. The 25 was restricting the flow so pressure was probably lower at diaphragm.
It's probably easier to slow milk than speed up the water to improve cooler efficiency.
