Hi,

Just wondering are certain ploughs only able to fit certain tractors because of tractor wheel width etc?

Or is a plough a plough and that's what they are?

Looking for a plough to fit a Case Luxxum... would an old Dowdswell or such like be ok?

Thank you in advance.

Yeah we're really pleased with it... we even borrowed the contractors 18t trailer and we managed to cart muck with it ok, but didn't fill it completely full haha. Want to get back to.doing our own work abit more in future so just looking for a cheap 2nd hand 4 furrow plough... would you have any suggestions?

Any cat 2 plough will fit your tractor but you may need to alter your wheel width.more modern ploughs can be altered to fit the tractor rather than the other way round.

Cheers Nick. Sorry to ask silly questions (I'm not too knowledgeable on this) but which points do I need to measure to and from when looking to buy a plough, I assume from the back wheel to where the 1st furrow is?

Dowdeswell ploughs,or the older dp7 type give a measurement between the wheels and you normally end up with 68/72/76 centres depending which hole pulling pin is in.the continental ploughs usually have a set up on the plough to move whole plough across, independently to the front furrow adjustment.easy to see if you look at a few.

If u buy 1 with a hydralic adjustable headstock it shouldnt be to hard to get it set. Round here its mainly kverneland ploughs cause they seem to suit land conditions but id like an overum.
