Not so much the competition or even winning it. It's getting through the mire to get there in the first place.

Just to add insult to injury - the Classic winner is excluded from the overall winner reckoning.

Good luck Roy

Thanks Dave, only 2 matches this autumn so far and the 1st didn't go well :( however back on form today with a fair performance, did you venture to the Welsh ? some of the Welsh lads said it was a rockery to plough

Not a lot of good ploughing going on in Tuscany right now. Probably never is truth to tell!

Like a lot ploughing matches. .... bleddy judges

Oi! ....Steady on :D:D:D

There should exist in an honest and free thinking society, a symbiotic relationship between ploughmen and judges (symbiotic - two organisms existing in close proximity which is mutually beneficial)

It would not be outside the realms of possibility for this relationship to become antibiotic (two organisms living in close proximity to the detriment of one or t' other)

On Sunday last a spectator said to me 'are you doing some good judging' to which I replied 'I can honestly say 50/50. Half who have won will think it's good. The half on the losing end will think it's bad'!

Let's face it - judges or ploughmen, chance how good or bad they are, there would not be a ploughing match without either!
