Poison?

Found this in hedge bottom while fencing today, think it’s a poison symbol on the lid? Does it look familiar to anyone?

More likely to be maggot lotion (jeyes fluid) one old boy around here used to always have bottles lying around in sherry or whisky bottles

Can’t read what it says on the lid, didnt want to open and smell it just in case but don’t want to waste it if it’s good stuff!

If I remember rightly poisons were never put in smooth glass bottles, they always went in bottles with deep grooves or raised lattices/skull and crossbones symbols so that illiterate people could not get bottles mixed up and poison themselves!

Definitely their logo, but the poster says 'only sold in triangular bottles', so I'd think another product from the same makers.

According to their 1903 catalogue Hewthorn made hundreds of different veterinary lotions and potions, could be any one of them.

Are they still in business now? All I can find on the net is some murder case involving a hewthorn, but I’m not a tech guru !!

Poison was normally put in ribbed bottles generally green or blue in colour

Find old bottles next to gateways here all the time. Grandfather would have maggot lotion in them, positioned next to gateways as easy to gather sheep.

I have some old Day's fluids in bottles like that. As said, it has a beer bottle style screw top and looks too much like a soda bottle to be anything poisonous, as poisons were put in ribbed bottles of cobalt blue for most poisonous and green for just nasty, while disinfectants etc tended to have odd shaped and ribbed bottles.
I found a bottle of Curechiline which claims to "cure all cattle diseases. " Great grandad used to peddle it round the local shows and drank it himself . Although it was only peppermint and water, it didn't do him any harm and he lived to 93
