Polaris awards dealers at Poland conference

More than fifty Polaris dealers gathered last monthfor the annual business conference, held at the Polaris factory in Opole, Poland. For many it was their initial chance to see the factory, which has completed its first full year of production. The 345,000-square-foot facility was also the first Polaris plant dedicated to manufacturing Off-Road Vehicles (ORV’s) outside North America, producing approximately 35 different ORV vehicle models destined for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) region. The Polaris dealers arrived from across the UK including Shetland, Wales and Northern Ireland to see the 2016 line-up and receive Dealer of the Year awards covering three main areas and best newcomer.

Four Rangers for Belvoir Estate​

The end of April saw a charity clay pigeon shoot held in the grounds of Belvoir Castle, to raise money for the Belvoir Cricket and Countryside Trust. The event was sponsored by RES Tractors of Melton Mowbray who, as authorised Polaris dealers, had also supplied four Polaris Ranger Diesel 1000s to the estate earlier in the month, and subsequently agreed to become sponsors. Hosted by the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, the charity is focused on getting young people active and enjoying the countryside. For many of the 2,581 children who took part in the Trust’s activities from 2015 to date it was their first introduction to the sport of clay pigeon shooting. The Polaris Rangers were primarily supplied to the estate for use by the Gamekeepers and for this occasion pressed into service throughout the event. Outlaw to support Scottish Charity

Perth based Stratton ATV is running a raffle in support of the Scottish Cot Death Trust at both the Royal Highland Show in June and Scottish Game Fair at Scone in July. A baby dies every nine days of cot death in Scotland and the majority of families will never know why their healthy baby has died, for no apparent reason. The Scottish Cot Death Trust is the only cot death charity in Scotland trying to find the answers through funding research. “This is a charity close to me and my family as back in 2012 we lost our son Dexter to cot death when he was just thirteen weeks old,” says Iain Stratton, “the trust was very helpful to us and I would like to give something back.”

The vehicle is classified as Y-10+ for riders 10 years old and older with adult supervision. The ATV’s speed is limited to less than 15 mph/24.1 kph on delivery. Scottish Borders’ Reiver Garage Services has been appointed as a new Polaris dealer. The dealership, run by Dale Robertson, follows a thirty-five year family tradition with Reiver offering service and repair work, coach, taxi and self-drive hire. Polaris has announced the introduction of the latest Ranger Diesel UTV with new features to complement its durability and practicality. The 2017 Ranger Diesel HD comes with more torque, more towing power and a significantly longer lifespan than petrol-powered counterparts. This is a real workhorse with its Active Descent Control for controlled hill descents, automatic four-wheel braking on steep inclines and Electronic Power Steering. A new 7-pin trailer socket now comes fitted as standard and comfort is ensured with the Lock & Ride Pro-Fit cab system and a whole range of accessories.

The new 2017 Ranger Diesel HD is built for purpose with a 1028cc Kohler 3-cylinder overhead cam liquid cooled engine. This proven, high performance diesel engine utilizes indirect injection and delivers smooth power with reduced combustion noise. The compact, heavy-duty design has a cast iron crankcase for durability and an aluminium cylinder head for weight reduction. It is also EPA/CARB Tier 4 compliant. Polaris recently celebrated rolling the one-millionth RANGER machine off the production line – 2018 will mark two decades since the utility vehicle was introduced to the side-by-side line-up.

Developed with over one hundred-user inspired improvements, the all-new Ranger XP 1000 sets a new standard for what a utility side-by-side can do. The model boasts class leading power (82hp) and torque (61lb-ft), industry-leading towing (over 1100kg) and ground clearance (330mm) – making it the hardest working, smoothest riding side-by-side built.

Featuring the proven ProStar 1000 Twin Cylinder engine, the Ranger XP 1000 features a new one-piece frame providing improved chassis stiffness and automotive levels of refinement, with a redesigned interior to provide more storage and capability. The RANGER also has a tighter turning radius and more precise steering.

Bold and aggressive new styling on the outside, developments continue on the inside of the cab too. Prize Outlaw for budding gamekeepers

Two lucky kids, Arthur and Belle Rhodes arrived home from school one day to find a big surprise. National Gamekeeper Organisation member’s wife, Louise and dad Jamie had bought tickets for their children and entered the NGO Summer Prize Draw launched at The Game Fair. The star prize was a Polaris Outlaw 50 Junior quad bike, designed for children aged six plus, and ideal for budding gamekeepers.

The winning ticket, which cost just £1, was drawn at the Countryfile Live Show at Blenheim Palace. To their delight Louise and Jamie Rhodes were the winners. The Polaris Outlaw, which has a RRP of £1,999, was presented to them by Richard Coleby, Polaris’ District Sales Manager.

“We’re thrilled”, said Jamie “this has been an extremely welcome surprise to have won this bike, we have had a smaller quad bike for a couple years now for our two children Arthur and Belle to use but it is now too small and we were looking at replacing it with a new one. Both Arthur and Belle were so excited to take delivery of the bike. Unfortunately they were at school when it was delivered but it was an excellent surprise for them when they arrived home!”
