I have a ranger diesel out on demo. It’s very nice and hasn’t failed to go anywhere yet, looks to be very good in diesel . My only gripe with is it is how hard u have to drive it. Wee are quite hilly . Will it last the pace is what I’m thinking ??

@Fendt516profi @exmoor dave and myself all have 1. I am not soft with any machines and mine has some hammerings and often 20+ mile at 40mph constant and only thing I’ve had was a stabiliser arm snap which was due to be upgraded on the next service anyway. Can do 200 mile flat out on a tank of diesel.

Yeah had ours a year now, so far so good,
Traded wifes quad in for the ranger, really got it so she could take our daughter round on stock round.
I didn't think I'd use it much as always preferred quad, but have to say I've grown to really like the ranger.

Think all the diesel buggies are slow going up hill, but they are funny because they'll chugg away same speed empty or loaded up.
Can't say i really notice the lack of up hill speed much anymore.
Pretty nippy for a diesel on the flat though.
Only real gripe is I struggle to get 40mph out of it except on a long flat bit of road.

No problems so far, keep it serviced on the dot, which is every 200hrs, dealer thought we might get away with one a year service 😂😂😂
Done 3 already 🙈

But bike is getting used half as much.

Heater on the ranger is 👌👌👌
Esp as i took driver door straight off and only have passenger door on over the winter.

Oh the doors are abit crap, heavy with next to nothing to stop them swinging too far back

Yes cab doors do let it down almost awkward ti get in and out . Should be hinged other way but I was thinking if I get one door will be coming off or even something better ti stop it flapping all the way round

Yes love mine, new last March and she clocked 11k miles up already. spends most of the winter loaded up with feed and pulling a snacked full. take 6 mule ewes and lambs 3 miles in the tip trailer up some nasty steep banks no bother. Recon it was around £10 a day for diesel in lambing time compared to £35+ if I was using the bike. the doors are good but as said they are a pest swinging right round but unless it’s really bad wind and rain I leave mine off. 20 seconds to put it back on. This is my 4th ranger and they improve every time I get a fresh one. They take on board whats wrong with them and change parts that are a common fault.

@Al R is it you with the assister rams on door or @exmoor dave? @exmoor dave have you had it looked at mine was steady and I knew it should be quicker from the demo one was sorted at first service
I have gas rams yeah, they come with plastic ends and dad snapped 3 of those first day he drove it on a quiet day. I’ve changed them to metal ends on the rams and much better but we are careful opening them when windy

Had a Ranger for 18 months now. It’s lighter, nippier and was 2/3 the price of a new Gator. Overall quite pleased with it, we’re doing about 750 hours a year on hills and flints, not too much towing but often quite a bit of weight on the back. It always seems to have something loose and rattling underneath, had various pins/bushes etc replaced under warranty but nothing too serious

Had to change all the tyres to something a bit less aggressive because we ripped the lugs out of the sidewalls.

It seems to constantly need servicing which adds up having the dealer do it for warranty.

I will probably look seriously at changing for new when the warranty runs out. I don’t really want to end up chasing all the rattles around myself or I’ll spend more time under it than using it.

Prefer our Ranger to the previous Kubota and Gator though the Kubota is the most solidly nailed together of the bunch.
Ranger much quicker, not quite 40mph unless with a following wind but nips about on the roads at 35 which is plenty. Only thing is it does get a bit warm under load or uphill, rad's clean and everything else ok so maybe that's normal. It's much more nimble than the other two and uses 2/3rd of the fuel of the Kubota.

Agree about the doors, they're mostly more trouble than they're worth and stay off except in the depths of winter.

I'd definitely buy another though.

90*C with engine temp? I found that with mine but if you turn the blowers on it drops back to 85 which I’m happier with.

We have one, only 4 months so far but its really good if a little noisy, but I was hoping to use the pick up a lot less as the polaris runs on red, that didn't work out very well with the red being near the same price as white so I might be selling.

Have a go in the petrol one it’s rapid 😂
Very noisy though surprisingly, I have just had a go with a 570 but it looked a bit of a toy compared with the diesel. I have been looking at them recently but decided too expensive for my job so just swapped my pickup as I use it for alot of my shepherding. Pickup swap not a lot more than buying a ranger outright but will hopefully last longer and just stick with a quad.
