Polycool or lishman pedestals?

We have both, much prefer the Polycool ones. More robust vs a telehandler bucket and seem to do a perfectly good job of cooling (y)
Other than being more robust do you have any other reasons to use them? We have lishman pedestals and they certainly don't like the loader bucket, But we need some that are over 3.5m as opposed to the others at 3m so can try something else as the lishmans wont interchange with them anyway. Will one polycool pedestal do 6 x 8.5 x 3.5m deep do you reckon?

Lishmans here work well. If you are careful pushing up and out loading Lishmans are good. If you have someone not so fussy on the loader, go Polycool!

The Polycool top tubes are just twin wall pipe. Just put a longer length on them to go deeper?

Personally, I don’t understand why anyone would choose metal ones over Polycool, if buying new. I don’t know of any advantages, only drawbacks. :scratchhead:

I have Polycool pedestals and they are sufficient to remove a couple of % from my little bit, as well as cooling it rapidly. I just flick them out gently with the telehandler bucket when they are mostly exposed and it would be difficult to damage them.
Most farms with metal pedestals have one or two bent ones leaning against a wall somewhere.🤐

The robustness is the main reason, I think they are actually more expensive than the metal ones but when you have to keep replacing bent metal ones the plastic ones are better value. We use them quite spaced out in grain that's at least 3.5m deep so I would say you'd be fine with those measurements. Buy one or two to try for a year before splashing out on anymore? We still use metal ones till they are no good anymore.

Any way to stop polycool pedestals moving (sliding forward or tipping forward) when pushing grain up with a pusher. Thinking of some sort of base on them maybe?

I’m in middle of putting Evan’s and Pearce version of the poly cool in for the underfloor system. Wouldn’t fancy catching the metal ones and not much cheaper.

We find that Polycool tubes bend like a banana when subjected to a little side loading of grain from a discharging conveyor. 3rd tube can almost get to 45 degrees.
