Pond Weed

Cleaned out my pond middle of last year with a 360 and its now got loads of weeds growing in it . Anybody know what they are as I can't really see anything similar on the net. Also, anybody have any good ideas on how to get rid, or at least reduce/control? Someone said it was duck weed, but I thought that was the green stuff that floats on the surface that you can scoop out, whereas this stuff is rooted from the bottom and grows up. I did have ideas of putting some fish in it at some point. Its fed via a land drain and overflows out and eventually into a river.

It looks like the stuff we get in an open channel from a spring to the nearest ditch.
I was told it’s called Fools Watercress because it’s not the real thing and doesn’t last fresh when pulled. It was very peppery to taste but I was also told absolutely not to eat it as it harbours the mud snail that carries fluke worm.
I dug it all out of the channel and left it strewn about on dry land where it just shrivelled up. A bit came back so I pulled it out again which seemed to knock it on the head.
That was a couple of years ago. There is some coming back again but nowhere near as much.
Keep at it with the digger.

Is it actually causing a problem? Fools watercress is my stab. If you google fools watercress can see plenty of images.

Thanks all.... Its not really causing an issue, just don't want the whole pond full of nasty weed again. It got that thick you could walk across it! Might stick the waders on and rag some out and get fish!
