Poor fruit crop on trees

Got a lot of fruit and nut trees but this year zero pears again. No walnuts, no cob nuts.

whats with my pear failure. I did have a few concords on a tree and now they have gone. Nothing on the ground. Again no evidence of hazels on the ground either.

Never seen a quince on the trees.

Many of my apple varieties very poor apart the old heritage ones which are fabulous

Why never any pears when there are a few in the field.

I think you need 2 pear trees so they can pollinate each other.....could be talking 💩 💩 though!!@

We have a dozen trees of different types, apple, pear, cherry etc. Not a thing. Old tree in the garden 20 yards away has apples hanging in bunches like grapes. Wierd.

Plums had lots on but didn’t last long before crows took them , Apple had five apples on but all have disappeared . Cold spring won’t of helped an less pollinators

You’re not alone with the pears but I’ve never seen so many cooking apples

My entire crop of Golden Delicious!
It would be normal to fill 25-30 of these crates from the trees I have. I’d say Goldens were the most reliable croppers out there, they usually have far too many on the tree, just unheard of for them to do this. A late frost will wipe them out but they didn’t even flower.
A very strange year. Throughout my orchards some will be down to a big crop last year, some is probably due to mildew, some will be poor weather at pollination time and I have to suspect the noticeable lack of insects early in the year may have played a role in there too.

On the flip side my Kidds Orange trees cropped nicely.

We've got an apple pressing diversification taking in small quantities of fruit mostly from people's gardens.

2022 everyone seemed to have a bumper year
2023 much less fruit around as expected after '22

This year I'd say is above average, but feels like it might be an early finish.

However, very little fruit here on our own trees.

Lots of trees fruit biannually if unmanaged.

I would say our few garden trees are about average for pears, apples, plums and damsons (that go uneaten). Cherry tree was loaded, best ever, until blackbirds stripped it as usual :/ Walnuts on par with last year. Have some more to collect if the squirrels haven't finished them.

Apples, pears and cherries are the biggest crop we've had in years here.
We've only about 60 trees (of too many different varieties) to sell the fruit through the farm shop.
Last year was very poor, except for the quinces and pears which did well.
The cherries even got left long enough by the birds for us to pick them !
Apple trees are classed as early, intermediate and late flowering, so you need a mix of these to pollenate all of the trees.
We do have 8 bee hives close to the orchard.
We have two big old pear trees of 3 different varieties ( one's grafted), which help pollenate the pears, but they are cooking or perry varieties, so not really saleable.
I'll need to pick and store a lot of apples this time. Usually they all sell straight from picking.
Sales are very slow this year, as folks have got a lot in their gardens and I won't sell many until those have run out.
