Poorly lamb

Any ideas? She was born today at around 2, normal birth and didnt think anything of it, out her in a pen with mum, ran around and did all my others jobs at 1000mph as per usual and then went milking, she hasn't sucked off mum and cant stand and is all limp. She can hold her head up and I've given her some lamlac which she drank maybe 100ml of. I've not got much hope for her unfortunately but would like to know what it is for future!

It needed colostrum. It's just starving but possibly hypothermic by now.

Dad tended to it after she was born and she was the same then, couldnt stand, not that interested in drinking etc

Well sometimes they're just weak maybe premature, Tubing colostrum keeps them going if they need a bit of time to get going but perhaps it has other issues. They really need colostrum in the first few hours.

Maybe just a none do’er, it is a sheep after all, some don’t even want to live for a day!! But as above, needed colostrum, keeping warm..etc!! Without that hyperthermia an then watery mouth an then the scrap bin if not got on top off quickly, 🙈

Good genes help get up and suck.

Other than that good feed for the ewes early colostrum/ milk supply including vits and mins a
shortage of iodine can mean slow lambs.

Thanks all, got up here this morning and to my surprise you wouldnt know anything was wrong with her!

We bolus everything with selenium, iodine and cobalt at tupping. I like to think I've got the diet spot on as I've had almost nil problems so far and I'm over 2/3's done, all the lambs so far have had a get up and go attitude which is why we dont spend too much time checking theyve had colostrum as they usually are climbing up the walls within about 2 seconds of being born, which is why I was a bit miffed about this lamb!
