Portal frame shed house conversion.

Anybody done one of these conversions? We currently live in a static caravan on our farm as all other family members are taking up existing housing. We’re pretty set on putting up a 45 x 28 shed frame that we have and converting it into a house. There’s one that’s been done recently local to us which I’m trying to go look at just seeing if anybody else has done similar.

Good, there is pushing a few boundaries then taking the pee completely.

Planning law is so kind at the moment there’s no need to go to extremes, google earth and street view now make it very hard to get away with it

Planning law and kind do not go in the same book let alone sentence or paragraph around here for local people. If you happen to live elsewere and need to convert or build your second home though they just dish out the planning or worst the retrospective planning!! Nuts! Local families are refused extensions where children are sharing bedrooms!!

Planning Law is the same for everyone, it is all in black and white. There are three main documents in planning, the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order and the Local Authority's Local Development Plan.

These are the three documents a planning application must comply to and it is down to the applicant or their agent to ensure an application complies with them. That is what I do for a living.

Applications can be appealed by the independent planning inspectorate if you believe the three documents listed above have not been considered fully when a decision has been made.

Sorry but I don’t you think you understand the current planning law.

Never in the last 15 years has planning been so kind to members o f the public and especially farmers.

Get an agent in to give you advice if you are not sure but now is the time to convert

The buiding must have been in agricultural use for 10 years to be suitable for conversion under Class Q. Otherwise it would need full planning and national planning policy resists the creation of new dwellings in the countryside.
Do you have any buildings suitable for Class Q conversion which you could replace with the new one?
In place on 20th march 2013 or 10 years after that date as i thought @GeorgieB82 ?
