Why not??not in england
No idea but not in Wales either although it’s totally rife!!! If it wasn’t for scab I’d go to the marts and buy but it’s way to risky and I’d need a lot to warrant getting a dipper in.Why not??
i don't make the rules just saying,i tell people,if you buy out of a market assume they have scab until your sure they haven;tWhy not??
Chuck all the hurdles in?For those that dip and use a mobile handling system to handle them pre dipping what do you do with the handling system? 20 days no handling? Run them back through or knapsack the whole system?
What’s the best dipper design? Who supplies pre cast tubs?Unless there are pressing reasons not to do so...put your own dip in, go on the course, do then before tupping every year.
(or possibly at height of fly season if that works better..... i'm going off hill conditions where flies are less of a bother, and communal gathering period is autumnal)
keep ivomectin drugs for worming.....
How do lice/scab mites move without close ovine contact?
Good question, although I've always been suspicious of corvids going from farm to farm when sheep are being trough fed.
We've watched them learn routines of neighbouring farmers......and it only takes a bit of wool picked up in one place and dropped at the next.
I'm sure there's differing opinions...What’s the best dipper design? Who supplies pre cast tubs?
Scab is a notifiable disease.
