Regarding rock spikes.
Its something that I wouldn't want to be without. However if you are on relatively soft ground and not a lot of stone then you could manage without.
I wouldn't want to manage without telescopic boom and slow. This is the most important feature.

I have a wrag basic xl with 300kg weight and rock spike. Its a good machine for what we do. Slew is very handy for getting in corners

Just looked in the Halse book, you can spend best part of 16k on a protech post driver, fantastic
I gave about 600 quid for my browns basher it was "like new" about 15 year ago, hardly had a post it won't drive yet and it don't weigh much the little old 565 will take it most places in the winter without making a mess

You can buy cars at different prices. Both get you from a to b.
Post drivers - pay more for more features/convenience.
I upgraded from 200 to 300 Protech last year as I wanted rock spike, telescopic and heavier weight.
No regrets.

Another vote for Protech, 230 should be plenty good enough. It’s a proper contractors machine but fits on a reasonably small tractor, I’ve been just about everywhere with mine over the last 18 months
