Seen bits of blight around Lancashire but the high temps last week helped sort it out, along with an Application of Zorvec Endavia. If you’ve got a problem with blight then a Proxanil/Ranman top mix is good to get you out of the doo doo (y)

Odd spot in Markies, have been in every week with a robust (expensive!) program. Seems to have been a continuous blight period in July. Would like it to ease up to get back with some curzate.

Thanks for your suggestion, done today as small patches of blight starting to show in marfona and can't burn down as waiting for Fazor to take affect.

Yes been a very strange growing season.i think spuds may be worth some money if people can look after them but weather always against us

Ones I've been pulling up don't seem to have many tubers underneath so yields may be down although not a bad thing for piper and gravity as most years they throw too many tubers and get a load of small ones!!

On Sky news yesterday they were saying there is a potato shortage across Europe due to extreme weather and that chips etc were going to be in short supply.

What sort?

I don’t know what’s going to happen, but all our spud plants have less potatoes underneath this year.

I hope they are short, we need a decent price to make up for the last 18 months of losses.

You need to read the Gutter press to know what is happening in the potato world!

Marforna produced at Boston, very bold sample.

Some other Bostons have a blight problem Bard I think, will check bag tomorrow.

My 4 acre were planted very late, lambing, drilling, routine top dressing/spraying, shop staff self isolating, then too dry to plough, then too wet to plant, brassica plants arrived, so planted early june. Fantastic tops but not much underground hopefully in a month @Hindsight

Blackleg?! Bard and Marfona noted. In practice is a rot in the bag, so Blackleg or Blight not good for the buyer! There are still some old crop Melody and whites in cold stores. Quite a few been going for stockfeed (£12t) or peeling (£40t) past couple of weeks as stores emptied. Few growers been holding hoping for a late season demand. Packers got adequate supplies. You could be doiing with a few of those but doubt these find there way to wholsesale markets.

Yep never had this bad blight patches in all the years I've been spraying. Hopefully won't transfer into store too much and the prices will hold up
