Potato fertiliser

I've used a yara 14 14 21 prill placed with a horstine applicator in the bed for the last few years. However, a 14 14 21 blend is considerably cheaper than the yara compound so I am considering changing. I know a blend wouldn't spread as well with a spinner but is there any reason why the blend wouldn't feed accurately through the horstine applicator?

I was thinking yara compound with the planter, but now thinking DAP down the spout and spread MOP overall on ploughing and a split of n overall during the season. Left over dap can be used for osr, good to meter, and hopper full will go a fair way.
The down side is no sulphur. Is it important for crisping potatoes?
What's wrong with my plan?

The yara would be worth 50 pound a ton more in my book, every Prill the same instead of a dusty blend which blocks pipes all the time and doesn't run when hopper gets down a bit

Growing prepack varieties.
The agronomist has actually recommended 8 24 24 + S down the spout which Yara sell as Multicrop. I've also got to spread some MOP, Ammonium sulphate, and then go with N during the season as required.
Trouble is Multicrop is not readily available in England. It's a Scottish product apparently. Its blend equivalent is readily available though.
But it sounds like a prill is a preferred choice.
In the past I have just used Maincrop, 30% spread, 70% placed, with extra N as appropriate.
Agronomist is just trying to fine tune the recommendation to best fit the soil analysis. Plus there is the additional S in Multicrop. We're trying to make sure we don't over apply N as haulm destruction is going to be harder without reglone. And it's rented land so we don't like leaving too much p and k behind.
There is £30/ t difference between 14 14 21 compound and Maincrop prill which isn't too bad if it's a superior product. But I've called 3 dealers and I can't even get a price on the Multicrop i want which is why I was quoted the 8 24 24 S blend.
I can imagine a blend would clog the pipes a bit. Even the prill dust can build up over time.

Would Origin's 10-15-21 + 20 So3 be an option? Its a compound and gives you some Sulphur, I believe there are a few growers around here which use it.

Have used it the past, and holy smokes was it dusty! Got a rebate off them in the end it was so bad.., could well have been a one off but never used it again, went back to yara.

Going with origin 10 15 21 S plus some 0 24 24 spread. Then top up N as required.
Told to get order in today as origin are closing their books due to weakening pound and they need to reprice...Any excuse!....The dollar has weakened too!!!
