Potato harvest

Any pictures of how they are lifting? Not seen a hoover and baskets for years. You loading into boxes?

No buckets tipped into plastic bags, then tipped on the heap.

Lost the green ones to frost & cut a few digging too shallow. To be fair a harvester would be a nightmare, smearing the frosted mush onto the good tubers. Yeild & qualty good though & retailing at a sensible price so worthwhile. About 3 ton per man/per day but only 5 hour days due to other commitments.

We have a grimme harvester but difficult finding staff, expensive repairs & don't keep as well as hand picked.

The hoover is on its last legs so may buy a new Grimme/Asa lift hoover for the next 40 years.
