Tried......failed.
Giving our DL1700 a “heart lung” transplant of new main web and under drive rollers, and ex GZ web tensioning roller. Serious problems getting good web drive.
I can never understand why they altered the drive arrangement. On the continentals the rollers were tight together and the web was gripped as it wrapped around them. Serious step backwards in the dl with the rollers further apart.Giving our DL1700 a “heart lung” transplant of new main web and under drive rollers, and ex GZ web tensioning roller. We used to do that quite often but were lifting at home so short haul.Is it possible to just put a row of boxes along the middle to reduce weight? See people getting stuck but all fully loaded.
We do half loads etc when closer to home but this field is a 12 mile haul home with no yard of facilities to reload so just have to manage. Is it possible to just put a row of boxes along the middle to reduce weight? See people getting stuck but all fully loaded.
Spent today fitting wet weather kit to the harvester 45/50/45 webs 70mm dalmans 20mm multisep. 25% lifted and out of dry ground. Hoping the forecasters are correct about better weather from the 21st onwards. On the positive side there is a wet weather market, volumes are good and prices are holding.
Dear Colon.
I have a 55mm main web, it makes a big difference on sticking ground.
Currently running 40 50 45
I think I will put 55 on Monday as another big dump of rain.
Still on 10 mm on multsep but have 20 mm ready to go.
55 is a special build you can’t get from Grimme as far as I know.
Do you have any issues with the 55 slipping? We have 22mm forecast for tomorrow. It will probably scupper any chances of lifting this week.
Jamie
Looks like all on the stolon end so maybe haulm rollers? These were lifted last wk, can any of you surmise what caused this damage? Dalhmans? These are from 25 tubers picked in store from the same place. The others were ok.

People must get damage? What is acceptable?

Maybe, if the dalhmans are taking the tops out then it could be pinching them if you have stolon retention, it’s ten years since I grew spuds and certain varieties, Markies, were terrible for it.Yes,my first thoughts. But I’ve got it going in the same direction as the webs (harvester has the function to go either way) and it’s tucked under.
I’m sure it was the dalhmans.

Bruising tends to be worse on the stolen end, I think because the dry matter will be slightly higher that end.Looks like all on the stolon end so maybe haulm rollers?

In varieties with long tubers bruising from RS rollers tends to be half way along the tuber.
