How much do you honestly reckon this has cost? Possibly the most lucrative input on the farm this year?

I have 85 acres this year, I more or less do them on my own, but on 24 acres rented I pay £40 acre inch for the farmer to irrigate for me. On my own land I reckon it costs me £12 acre per 25mm inc labour/water diesel or electric power. Not inc depreciation and all that stuff.

All in all I would estimate a cost of £20K overall this season.

I should think it was worth it?

Hello Folks . Did anyone of You planting Bintje variety ? Im interesting what yield are You got ? Is Bintje more or less resistant to fungal diseases ? I am a Polish small farmer. I heard a lot of good (from kitchen side :)) about the Bintje potatoes. The problem is that it is impossible to buy this variety in Poland.
