They are probably coming over to Ireland and packed into a queen bag, don't know how the merchants get away with it
Are queens nice eating? I take it they’re for boiling as new?

The only useful thing the old potato council did was the market report now AHDB produce a totally useless price report which is not worth looking at. I phoned AHDB for an explanation and they cut me off.Thought we should have a thread about this seasons prices.
How can we go by the AHDB email? No prices for Europe, only the futures for April 2019.
And prices for here going down? Average free buy still under £100? How can that be right?
They surely are strugglingView attachment 698114
These don’t have much potential imo.....
But then neither do my beet next door.....
10mm today. Only the second drink they have had since planting I think. They surely are struggling
I am sure there are some good looking crops but you need a magnifying glass to find them! By now all crops will have suffered some damage. Especially after a week of 30c+ temperatures. The areas which cannot be irrigated have the biggest problems but even after 6-7 times irrigating crops are not looking to well. The damage is done and yields will be 25-50% lower compared to last year. Everyone is in a panic right now. Onions are much worse even. Seed potato yields are also down and quite severely in some areas so the potato trade is expecting further consequences in 2019.

50% of my crop looks like that. Flowers are small bottom leaves dropped. Even where they have had a pass of irrigation on strong ground.
ATM it looks like they may produce about the same as we had over budget in 2017.
And I am not joking.

Had 40mm since Friday in north Pembs, crops have had a fair battering in the wind though.
