Mine are, but I only deal with family businesses who operate on a similar scale to us. I was talking with a big grower at the weekend who grows for a big multinational firm (no names mentioned) who was very unhappy.
Will they take any notice - not a hope.

I must admit we have done very well, still on £420 for Agria. But they’ll be finished in a couple of weeks. Got a shed full of Caberet to go, not such a nice sample though. Piper will finish next wk at £300 for non fryers.

Talk of £500+ last autumn, can’t see that happening can any of you?

Good gear is hard to come by.
For instance we have.
1/ Makie moderate size good fry, I bit high DM £360
2/ Markie good size poor fry good DM £350
3/ Markie very small very good fry & DM
4/ Victoria moderate size good fry chip a bit greasy. £360

Not much about that ticks the boxes.

Hard to quantify our losses through dehydration. But the Agria store has gone down about 8” at the top from where they were at loading. Been gassed twice so that’s about £7-8. Rough estimate I would say your not far out.

My neighbour up the road was selling piper off the field at £400 last aug/sep. He made the best money.

Doesn’t happen very often like that.

The merchants want a regular supply through the season but they’re not prepared to pay for £10pm rise for storage costs are they?

I always found selling straight off the field was best when I had a bigger acerage. Out of that game now but

Sounds about right! One of my friends asked his merchant how much more movement could he’d get if he dropped the price £20!

Short answer was none!

Potato call reporting firmer markets on fresh in NW Europe...........hopefully further opportunities to export ware and stabilise the UK packing prices..............

Not been the year i was hoping for up here,good packing spuds we were getting £230/t as dug in Nov,hoped that would be our lowest price this season,now getting £190/t and been in cold store until now,not going to help much after last years losses.Speaking to a guy in S Ireland and he was saying he had averaged 500/euro box,lucky for some!!
