Lovely samples, can see why you are getting good prices, wonder what the sagitta would do like without water.
I keep thinking my land is played out with piper but my problem field was clean land.

Don't know regarding water? I think we did ours 6 times with 20mm.

Is this units of N? Does all your fertiliser go down the spout?

The field had cattle muck at 40t/ha giving 23kgN then 130kgN broadcast pre planting. With a top up of 106kgN at tuber initiation. So about 260 kg/ha of actual N.

Piper are hard to grow right, but they always sell. I'd say getting the size is the hardest bit. I think they need to be 16" apart and they never seem to bulk till September.

We always used to get good bold samples. Few years ago. They were small and suffered pinking. We changed to other varieties. The buyers love good piper more than anything else in my experience

We use an agroband which seems to do a good job. We haven't noticed any ill effects, although im sure the planter stirs it up well!

Local merchant spoke of Agria up to £400, mainly around the £350 mark though.

Slow this week. 27 ton markies at £320 going to push that next week. Have 100 ton of agria left. Sitting tight on those though. They haven't had CIPC though but no growth worth talking of. Heard there's a few wet markies about.
