It’s very annoying, irrigation is taking up all my time atm. Makes you wonder if it’s worth it with the cost of fuel and prices going down.

I can’t see there being a huge Maincrop though, just can’t keep them moist enough. Been drought conditions since planting and in certain places in fields there’s a lot of drought stress.

can’t irrigate in the day either due to the relentless wind😩

Very true all of the above.just hope there isn't to much maincrop yield all round so prices may keep up??rather have a hit on yield and get more for them than too many and end up cattle feed again!!

Dug a marfona root up yesterday. Alot more tubers than last year and looked pretty good as been better growing conditions this season

Would be interesting to know what the planted area is.
Heard industry guess is 10% down on last year. Not much fun having to sell spuds out of cold store for stock feed this week. Don’t think the price will be much good until December and then will depend on yields with crops down here looking good.Been told crops look good in most of the country is this true?

How much you putting on and can you run narrower , against wind
maybe we fortunate to be able to run 6 at once , takes some time and juggling
