In this new normal we find ourselves in what next ?

Folk fighting over bags of spuds in local sales.

Mc Donald’s shuts there doors after tomorrow.

What will happen next ?

Local farm shop paying between £9.50 and £12.50 now per bag from wholesalers. They are adding £2.50/bag for the profit so hardly taking the proverbial.

The wholesalers are profiteering because 6 months ago it was £3.50/bag.

My main outlet has closed- I think. Open air market with a fair few stalls. Or maybe I'd be allowed to trade with potatoes and veg. No one knows. But will my regulars still come to see if im there? Dont know what to do. Also, want to keep safe.

The price has seriously moved up since then, There is little rice or pasta to eat, so spuds are back in fashion.

My neighbour has just sold several hundred tonnes of Spuds for £400 / t in bulk ..................that equates to £10 per 25kg pre bagging. Selling them for £15 bag is hardly leaving you rich !

Can you tell us who he sold them too? Not bid that price anywhere near in Lincolnshire today. Orders for chipping potatoes cancelled.

I bought a couple of bags of spuds last week, one was a tenner & the other a part trade off for some "feed" barley !
It was the highlight of my week, you have to travel miles from here to find anyone selling spuds at the door
I just don't understand why so many folk buy pasta not potatoes
Maybe it's my age ?
When we were kids nobody had heard of pasta (apart from tinned spaghetti) & there weren't many fatties around in those days

I am told the fish fryers association has told all shops to close.
As Trump said the Death rate from other issues will out pace that of COVID 19. At this rate.
FFS we need food outlets open.
Can’t get a home delivery for love noir money.

Delivery Vans torched yesterday.

The difference is though other diseases kill people every day because they have that illness.

Corona is killing healthy people and people with minor underlying health issues.

This country could loose 1 million to this if we don’t isolate fully.

My FIL says pasta is what foreign people eat. He even has chips with his 'Chinese' (Chicken & Mushrooms in gravy).

I bought a bag of Melody this week for 9 quid, which I didn't think was bad for 18,500 calories when we are mid-apocalypse.
