Potatoes blooming slow

Maintou only at 75% emergence
Marforna 100% emergence
Kondor less than 50% emergence.

Admit planted late 20 th May but that is very slow development.

How are yours?

In contrast the brassica crops drilled & transplanted some of the best I've ever grown.

The crops are a lot later than usual so should also flower a lot later. Funnily enough I have seen some fields here (all same variety and planted within the same week) and a few of those have been irrigated and some have not. The once that didn't get water are now flowering and the irrigated crops aren't. We had a week of 30c+ tempratures last week and now you see a lot of fields starting to flower because of the stress.

Had 20mm of rain in June so far, with little more coming, so people with early crops are irrigating to get some tonnage.

Wow I thought we were the only kondor growers left

Would be 100% Kondor if we could get the seed.

We like them for the taste, reliable in all weathers & very high yeilds. What do you like about them Herman?

The word blooming is causing confusion. I mean damn slow to even come out of the ground. Lots of development in last 48 hours, 1st blight spray applied today.

We have grown kondor for at least 20 years and will keep going as long as the seed is available I have been told that it is the last year for 4 years but still get them they are a cracking good spuds and only possible downfall is bit big and ugly and jelly end rot the odd years
We also grow marfona cara manitou and Mozart but nearly struggled to get manitou as morrisons wanted the variety exclusively ???
