There's a bit of spud talk in the cropping section but my guess would be spuds are generally grown by larger farms, employing staff. Regular TFF posters don't seem to be in that category, especially in Agricultural Matters.

Said from the safety of the other side of the world :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: .
But why are they 'generally grown by larger farms' ?
(We both know why, but lets play the game)

Because they generally require a lot of labour and a lot of up front money.
Most farms on busy ish roads could probably do well out of an acre or two of spuds but its a lot of work and not everyone wants it.

don’t blame the plough either!😂

There is little potato chat on here, for the same reason that there is little apple chat, or pig chat, or poultry chat.
It is the same reason why in 10 years time there will be little dairy chat, or arable chat.
And the same reason why in 20 years time there will be little suckler or sheep (the last refuge of farmers) chat.

I think we have quite a broad spectrum of discussion from across the industry, it’s interesting that when we’ve done the most ‘popular user comps’ many of the top posters aren’t the usual suspects, if memory serves me correctly the last one had the top 10 or so were from the livestock section. There’s room for greater discussion across the board, I’ve always had an interest in Veg corps and kit, just don’t tell the boss!

Im not sure he gets it.

There is a lot less numbers of that sort stock around and its ongoing, quietly, livestock markets are not what they were /dont have the throughput and will dwindle even more as well .

There's plenty of farmers in all sectors but for some reason, they don't show up in TFF Agricultural Matters. Perhaps the membership is made up of all types of farms, big and small but I don't think the posters are a particularly accurate reflection of UK Ag.

Especially the overseas member who isn't even a farmer. o_O:facepalm::sorry:
