Pottinger mow-co any good?

As above,looking at a 10yr old 2.65m HED. Going to put on a McCormick MC130 on 16.9 tyres. Got some steep ground to mow across. Have heard they are quite heavy. Anything to look out for? Other option is 2.4m lely £500 cheaper?

Pottinger should be fine,certainly a better bet than the lely.

Get on very well with our pottinger.

We run a 265 extra dry moco on a 6330 on very steep banks with no bother , it has plastic conditioner tines so this probably saves a good bit of weight over steel , very easy to drive too . The only problem I have ever had was when we had a very wet summer and never got to cut some hay fields until late July by which time some timothy in it had become very long and had gone flat , the grass in one direction would wrap around the conditioner before the bed had cut it and cause the clutch to slip .
On a good point they quite happily mow without the conditioner belts on for wholecrop etc without the need to bother removing the conditioner although that does come off easy enough too

Went to see both today. Pottinger from dealer and was clean and tidy,serviced 10yr old,new or good conditioner tines and new blades plus spares. £2400 inc delivery.
Lely looked worn,needed lick of paint,unserviced. £1850 delivered.
Pottinger looks better deal.

Thanks for all comments. Always take a few days to make a decision as shiny (even if old) paint can cloud the decision!!

I went from a 3.2m Lely to a 3m Pottinger. Never want to go back, in a different league!
