Pottinger novadisc mowers

Looking at buying a used 3m pottinger novadisc mower. It’ll be mainly for pre-mowing in front of the dairy cows and the odd field for silage, would only really cut 5 acres in 1 go, but still need it reliable. Blades need to be easy to change. Would it be to heavy for a JD2650 4WD? Some of our ground is pretty steep, but we’d never be in a hurry.
TIA

Guessing it's a straight mower no conditioner?
2850.....be touch and go I would say
Blades are easy to change yes and you could put them in upside down if needed.

Pushing it, but it'll be fine if you're careful. Fill the back tyres with water. Unlock your brake pedals before you start mowing, you'll need side brakes to keep the nose of the tractor pointing the right way on the sideways and up hill bits.

Have you thought about a Maxam drum mower?

With a tractor that age it’s more of a question of can the linkage handle the weight on one side more than how stable the tractor is. There’s loads of twisted and brocken cross shaft issues coming through on tractors in last ten years due to size of things like mounted MoCos. If it’s a plain mower it will be grand

A Novadisc is a plain mower, a Novacat is the mower conditioner. I haven't checked the specs but from looking at them there's a big difference in the weight of them. I can't see it being an issue unless I'm overestimating what a 2850 is capable of.

I have Novacat front and rear , neither are conditioner.

Novadisc is the heel drive lower spec ?

Would he be better off with a trailed mower, easy on and off and way better balanced on the tractor on slopes? Just thinking out loud?

Trailed is a nightmare on slopes, especially if turning and awkward shaped paddocks. But I do like it’s just a pin, pro shaft and 1 pipe to hook up

Will you need to lift it every bout or just keep it on the ground all the time like several actually operate if tractors smaller? When lifting for transportation is it not easy enough to lift only from the higher side of a slope? Transportation won’t be a problem as mower should fold up close to mean very little pull on balance crossways then.
I know someone that runs a Lely 2.8 mower on a 200 series Massey with no problem and I would guess the 2650 wouldbe heavier

How much does the doubles, non conditioners take to drive?
I'm fancying a set for a tier 3 Massey 6480 should be kicking out about 165hp
Swapping yours soon? I am a poettinger fan.
We used to run 2.6 front and 3.2 lely rear on 125hp. Devon hills would make it work but was still quicker than single mower.
Now we have 2.6 and 3.0 both pottinger on 155hp. Plain sailing.
