We all know Fendt are top of the tree but whose in the relegation zone? It strikes me that CASE/ New Holland are popular because they aren't the most expensive but traditionally they have good secondhand residuals and demand.
Claas and Valtra are good machines but I notice their residuals aren't so good secondhand, maybe that's just in my area. Opinions?

Where have you seen cheap 2nd hand valtras? Usually the command good money even at higher hours due to generally good reliability. Depends more than u would realise on local trends and fashions. I think claas would be one of the worst. Prices new would be up there with john Deere in bigger models but the used values would be much less. Unless you are trading in for another claas in which case the claas dealer will value it high to make it look like value to change.

Unless you're the one buying and selling or you some how get to see all the deals, how do you know what's good and bad?
Surely we're not going by list price and the advertised second hand prices?

Recent McCormick?
who wants them second hand?
It’s not what you paid for it or what you sell it for it’s the cost to swap which is the actual cost.
You could run new jd’s then swap for a new class and get what looks like a great deal, however swapping the class back to jd will cost you double!

I dont think fendt can be concidered good on depreciation, There was a fendt in the classified thread a couple of months back that was 140 k new and trying to sell at 100k 12 months old 1000hours no takers .
lossing 40 k must hurt anybody
