Powering a milking parlour with solar/batteries

My thoughts on steam are more along the lines of self generation of energy rather than power stations steam turbines - as I understand it, we cannot afford this technology on a farm scale ?

So I'm thinking more along the lines of a cylinder steam engine.
My two girls are cylinder steam engines the more efficient engines I am looking at are screw expanders. Farm scale is no longer a problem with so many people now offering screw expanders at really small scale and low temperatures.

I asked that as im not wantin to export but he said definitely not as ni electric has a say what u can do but mabe the laws different in ni
you can definitely add more panels if you want, you just cant connect them to the Grid,
I have a 20kw array, i know someone who added another 15% as they are only producing 85% on a good day so allowing him max output.

Iv been told that the battery is around £500 per kw so a 40kw battery is costin around 20k plus 3 k for a charger
I banged up a link especially for folk such as yourself to check out Davey.

If you have the incentive to do it & potentially save some cash.. let us know it would be interesting to see a larger scale battery project..
(no rocket science involved)

FYI several other people followed Joe's lead & have also completed pretty quickly their batteries (including lead time for the batteries from overseas) ..take heart, have a read, ask questions (also note you mention single phase supply so no confusion) obviously do the math, you can get a quote for cells from our preferred supplier who pops into the forum link.

Potentially a lot of money to be saved from the cost for not much work, if you follow the thread to the current page you'll see one guy (Caesium) has spent a bit more on a decent carbon conductive grease to assist cell balancing, a good move

Iv already fitted panels and batteries though
You said it yourself about potential need for upgrade down the line, considering the battery in a box cost, (& lack of easy supply currently) piggyback option is there, cost savings potential too..

Worth a look & doing some math to have at hand if you need it but money is tight, if you can simply afford off the shelf at a massive mark up from within your budget then lucky you, the fella in the thread already had off the shelf kit & decided to simply double up, others see that they can cover the cost of their kit by selling their pre-exisitng (mainly) pylontech batteries & go much bigger via simple diy.

How much of the energy is useable in your kit was it the full amount quoted or a percentage held in reserve (as is normal for battery protection)
