Just had my third set of springs on my 12 ft Prattley break. They are not strong enough for the constant road work. Has anyone found another, stronger make of spring to use than the Prattley? TIA
I've never seen any that look remotely the same so my suggestion would be put another one on each side as well asJust had my third set of springs on my 12 ft Prattley break. Local HGV garage? Are they leaf springs?
Owen springs at Rotherham. Make you any leaf spring.
They make springs aswellThey’re suspension springs on a chain.
thats not bad milage. on a set of springs thoTo be honest the springs don't break, they wear out, then break! Rough roads doing over 10000 miles a year with it takes it's toll. Although paying good money for a mobile system, the springs should take the work.
Is it worth moving the chain attachment point like on the rappa? What’s the purpose of the spring?
We have had Prattleys for 10 years, got through about 5 sets on them over that time
We have gone through 3 in 12 months . Spoke to prattley and they assure me new ones are a lot tougher now ?As it was raining I had a trip to Boston. I always try to put the springs on without twisting the chain. The spring itself is ok it's the internal metal in the spring that wears away
