Pre shearing fly prevention

Are there any products that we could apply now to keep flies off sheep until we shear in early June that would not cause any problems for the shearers?
Had the first one struck today and would rather the peace of mind until shearing. Thanks.

I used Ectofly last year, on the mob that I shear early (pedigree ewes and dry hoggs) for the same reason. Applied in early/mid May, then sheared them in late June. It only protects where it's applied, but cheap(ish) and cheerful and took the pressure off until shearing.

Ectofly or crovect. Personally I prefer crovect. Will put clikzin on ours this week and crutch aswell. Ewes are bit lean and we've lambed a bit earlier so should do then until end of June.

I've been thinking of this today and been putting one spray on ewes when marking their lambs.

Was tempted to sprey all the ewes mid march , 2 weeks pre lambing, and hope that would cover until early June when we normally shear.

Yes, a quarter rate of the active ingredient.

Says 2 months shearing withdrawal on Internet. Would normally swear end of May early June then clik end of June early July and job done. But ewes are lean and grass is disappearing before my ewes so they'll be better with their jackets on for another 8 weeks. Need mine on at the moment aswell. Bloody warmer in March.

Would be in line with the cover period wouldn't it. Clikzin os a reduced volume of the same product.

There's that many variations of that 1 product I get lost in them... But I know Clik says clearly not to shear for 3 months after applying

It makes me wonder how safe this "safe" product really is

It's turning into a shyte year. What's worse dad just says this is normal for April as the grass looks sick and everything is cold 😕 must've been a lot of very good April's when I was growing up if this is normal

Yeh another lean spring will probly wizz it down end of May like last year and grass will grow an inch a day. Stock couldn't really keep up with it and wasted most of the good growth. Every years didn't though I suppose. Who knows might be an actual drought this year like our ozzy friends 🤣
