Press and Media

Is one of our problems these days due to the hourly microscopic investigation for news and controversy by the press and media is actually in part a complete waste of time? Sure their are issues that affect us all which we want to hear about in a balanced way but the reporting of non essential stuff either says something sad about the reader or that the press and media have “lost it” on occasion? I know I’m approaching grumpy old man status but genuinely the world has lost sight of common sense and dealing only with what matters.

24 hour news cycle, most of it is garbage.
Common sense you ask..............good luck finding that.

I have said for a while that I think a lot of the issues we have are down to 24hr news reporting, they need to generate "news" and stories to keep the output up, even if a issue has been resolved they keep picking at it like sore to try and stir it up gain

We are bombarded with news nowadays via the mobile phones we are addicted too, and news24 programs. Gone are the days when the only news i heard or watched was the 9 o'clock news in the evening and anybody wanting to get in touch with me had to ring the home phone at night. Brexit had me gripped on politics like never before and although i wouldnt be without the mobile phone now , i wish they hadnt been invented.
