Preventing frit fly larvae damage

Some years I get it right, others not.
I have got first wheat stubbles going into second wheat and oat stubbles greened up with volunteers. What do I do now to limit damage.

Yes,I thought that was the ideal but as usual I have got behind and don’t want to leave it as long as 6 weeks before planting. Are the frit fly laying their eggs on the volunteers now and the idea is to starve them out by ploughing it all under?
Brown through glyphosate, more egg laying prevention than starvation.
