Anyone any idea what price I should be paying for electric supply? Just coming to end of 3 year contract with npower at 12.3p/unit, using about £1200.00 per year on small farm. Had offer of 11.3p/unit from british gas for 1 year. TIA

Might I suggest using a broker? Machinery ring put me onto Central Power in Bridgnorth, who seem very good and found some competitive rates.

I recently switched to Opus, 24p standing charge and 14.43p per unit, but I'm a small user. On another meter, I've got 21.05p per day and 14.22 per unit with Octopus, but again only about 3000 kWh per year.

I've built an Excel spreadsheet to use whenever I'm getting quotes - computes the overall costs from each of the suppliers. I'm happy to send this to anyone who wants, although I don't know how!

I have four meters, all in one place, and four suppliers. It can be worthwhile shifting the heavy use areas from the more expensive meters to the cheaper ones, if there's a big enough difference in unit rates.
