Price of firewood

That's what I'd have said. I sell seasoned split hardwood bags on occasion to family and friends and charge £65, could and probably would charge a bit mire if it was to Joe public.

Unseasoned soft wood, perhaps £25?

Green softwood talking a beer token I'd have thought.
Ash or thorn 10-15 quid tops.
Fair bit of exertion needed to knock it into logs, and presumably the seller knows it.

It's not seasoned, trees cut last week to clear site for building.

Think it's softwood but not 100%

If you have an enclosed stove that can safely burn softwood then unseasoned rings should be £30 ish a tote bag delivered. £35 for hardwood. You don't get many rings in a builders bag.

If you don't have a stove then you probably don't want it at all.

Oh - it won't season in the bags either

You really don't want to be burning unseasoned firewood in wood burners, unless you like chimney fires.:nailbiting:

ha, we stayed in a Chalet in France and had a roaring fire every evening thanks to the lovely logs that were stacked neatly in the porch. They were beautifully seasoned and uniform and burnt very well. On the last day of our stay my wife came across a note at the back of the visitors book "Please do not use the logs on the porch, they are purely for decoration purposes" by which time we'd burnt the lot!
