I wouldn't think they'd expect to sell a headlight for a new vehicle.
Probably priced to rip off insurance companies.

Depending on demand for new vehicles it's surprising how long it can take for parts to become available. This can work two ways either charge a fortune as in effect taking a part off the production line or just charge a fortune as there's no other place to buy one. Dealers will generally charge 100% mark up on parts at least.

Lot to be said for the old Land rover sealed beam headlamp, £10 or less,. So much for progress, if one can afford it!
