Pro 700 and prescription factors

We normally use a Trimble FMX with RTK for drilling with vra seed maps. To allow for overlaps we use the prescription factor setting to reduce the rate slightly. Due to a problem with the drilling tractor (whilst being serviced at the dealers) we have been lent a Case Optum with an AFS Pro 700 screen with Centrepoint RTX to do the drilling. Firstly does the Case system have a prescription factor setting to adjust the variable rate prescriptions? Secondly what files does the Case system use for prescription maps - shapefiles or isoxml? The dealer is coming out tomorrow to set it all up but often the links between office computer and tractor are not understood by the mechanics or the salesmen!

AFS Pro 700 will only run on isoxml files and dependant on software version of the screen and the software used to create the files might not work at all. Im assuming that your drill is isobus as this is the only way it will work. Task controller will have to be unlocked on the screen for VRA. As for the overlap sorry cant answer that question.

Sadly not isobus.

AFS Pro 700 supports voyager (CNH format) and ISOXML.
It can use shapefiles also...there is an import feature to import shapefiles and then converts them to voyager and/or ISOXML.

Which implement have you?

Vaderstad rapid. Not isobus. Vra needed. Won’t seem to send a rate to control station slave box. I can get all files into the pro 700 but not out into the drill box. Fmx does this easily. Very frustrating.

Yea, the older Vaderstad implements don’t support ISOBUS and rate commands can only be sent using a serial cable (RS232) but the AFS Display doesn’t support that connection for Vaderstad implements.

You’d only need the FM1000 display, power cable, antenna, antenna cable and serial cable out of the other tractor to transfer it into the Optum. Why not swap them across? 30 min job!
If it’s a big Precision Farming dealer they may have power cables and antenna cable that they can loan so you don’t have to pull them out of the other tractor....

Found this while looking into my situation, did the dealer get you going back then? I want to put shapefiles on the 700 and then use the isobus drill to go VRA, did the screen need an unlock, I’m yet to get the shapefile loaded, how did you do it please?

If it’s an ISOBUS Vad drill or planter then it should operate fine with the AFS 700. I’ve seen both types working correctly with section control and rate control.
You need the task controller software on the display plus a task controller activation to do section and rate control.

You can import shape files in Data Management > Import2 and if you have the latest software there will be an option to convert it to ISOXML which is needed to use rate control via ISOBUS.
The shapefiles (.shp; .dbf; .shx) must be in a folder called Shapefile on the root of the USB before they are recognised by the display.

Thanks, I got the shapefile on the screen, so sorted that but I’ll have to look if I’ve the ability to convert it. It came up like this

I’ve plugged my neighbours isobus spreader in to check the isobus works as my drill isn’t isobus yet, it was suggested this would be the most effective way to get going VRA, his spreader works but I see it says TC error, would this suggest its there but needs an unlock?

On this screen select “Import” in the top right corner and it will give you the options of which format to convert it to.

TC Error could mean different things like:
No USB stick in the display
Task controller is not enabled in Toolbox > TC
Or Task controller is not activated

You can check if it’s activated in Toolbox > Activate

Also....

if you have a spreader for granular fert it probably won’t recognise a liquid fert prescription map.
I see your photo shows that you’re setup to import a liquid map.

If you’re just doing a test then try setting “Product Form” to Granular instead of Liquid on that screen. Then it should import a map which the spreader will recognise.

I hadn’t loaded that map when I went and tried his spreader, I only did that because someone suggested just because my tractor had the isobus plug it didn’t mean it would be all fitted, I was a little surprised to hear that so went and tried next doors spreader.
Interesting you mention the USB card causing the error as since I loaded that map my usb that was in there doesn’t work, or a new one I’ve just brought, you tap the usb icon and it says put it in before power up, which I’ve done many times, it says something is full too and continue without task recording, it also won’t paint green lines on the gps page since that either, I’ve obviously done something but I don’t know what!
I’ve been on the active page and it’s empty so I guess that means TC isn’t activated yet?

ISOBUS is quite a broad term and includes several features.

I meant a missing USB is ONE reason why TC error might be displayed. In your case that’s not the reason because the USB icon is shown.

If you select the TC error tab it usually tells you the reason for the error but anyway, if the activate page is blank then yes that will be the main reason for the TC Error. You will need to order the activation code from your dealer.
