Problem sewing wool sheets

Wondered why I found it hard sewing up wool bags yesterday. Just done a measure up and this years string provided by BWB is nearly 3 feet shorter than previously. I know they are trying to make savings but that is taking it a bit far.

Luckily I have found a supply of surplus from previous years.
Your lucky they haven’t put any at all in ours and they are right old crappy sacks too

The only good thing about the string they provide is it’s good for prolapses...
Pegs here and everyone I know too 👍🏻

Are pegs a Welsh thing? I always had string back home (via Bromyard), then they provided a load of wooden pegs with the bags when I moved over the border. I was embarrassed at having to ask the shearers how to use the damned things the first year!

Never heard of the peg system? What are they? Do you use numerous per sheet?

About five or six oak pegs pencil size per bag. Hard to describe the process, but jab down through the side furthest away, pull it past the near side and jab down through and double it back under. Reading that back it sounds sh!t though.

Kids were pillow fighting sitting on a telephone pole with wool bags and a tarp to land on. Peg went through the tarp and shirt. Air ambulance to Cardiff,no permanent damage👍
I thought it may have been kids jumping into piles of wool bags, always remember doing that when young, wouldn’t dare do it now 🤦🏻‍♂️
Glad no permanent damage though!

Hospital had been told it was a stabbing with a tent peg🙄. Took some explaining. Sent a spare peg with them to show what they were dealing with
