Problems downloading photos

My old laptop died so I've found another which is win 8

When I try to copy and paste a photo in to the reply box on here it copies in but when I hit the reply button it disappears

Then tried save in pictures folder and uploading same as win 7 which works but when I click on full image it increases by about 1%

HELP please
