This was my favourite talk over the 3 days. The whole session was really interesting and full of facts rather than speculation. It also cast doubt of the Eat Lancet Report and the (facts) it chose to report.

Basically - red meat is part of a healthy diet. Too much (over 7 portions a week) and it can cause issues, too little (especially in children) you get increase disease burden on a population. A 90% Reduction in Red Meat Consumption will Result in Amino Acid & Micronutrient Deficiencies. It also turned out the Vegan burgers (sold in the new chains) are very high in sodium and sodium is number two on the list of causes of disease burden.

A balanced diet is good for you! Who would have thought it. I do love a science talk.
