Yes the indicators stop as soon as you turn on the hazards. The hazards circuit should then takeover and make the indicators flash.
The hazard switch is extremely complicated for suck a small task.
I'll see can I get a circuit diagram, or will you leave them as they are?

I have a workshop manual with wiring diagram, has already saved me pulling my hair out
The flasher relay was missing, that was complicated and stressful enough

Just realized alternator light doesn't work, and yes the bulb is good
Temperature and fuel gauges don't appear to work either

Fuse or a wire off the ignition switch.
To test:
Switch key ON and disconnect the little (WL) wire from the alternator and earth it of the steel work, charging light should come on?
But that wont have anything to do with temp or fuel gauges ..........

With the engine stopped?
The oil lights work fine, would that suggest feed from ignition ok ?

Yes with engine stopped, try the easy stuff first.
The key is probably hard to get at from behind, so fuses and charging wire first ........

Well you would not want to make too much of the leopard skin roof lining. Was that an off cut from a uniform?

Ok bit of an update,
Lights all working
Roof not cracked or leaking
Temperature gauge fixed
Hour clock is working, @powerontheland so I'm now confident hours are genuine
Just need a alternator and fuel gauge and rear hub seals and then it will be EVERYTHING working perfectly
Got the loader on today, not the loader that came with it but my own loader

I did have to move the bit that goes on the front bracket and then straight on, only potential pain is the loader was parked too high, the brackets on the 398 are higher
