I believe (not 100% though ) that it’s a legal obligation for a dealer to supply machines with a manual ?

Yes.
The supplting dealer is legally required to suply you with a manual.
Im not sure if it states it is to be in your native language though!

its part of the CE marking process (not striclty H&S, as its European law. Everything placed ont he market within the EU must be CE marked, where applicable (which this is) which requires a user manual.)

Right. Progress. But not much. Didn’t bother with pics as it’s basically what we did with Xerion A

All rear linkage off, front link extensions off. Keeping the front links on to mount a tool box. Thinking that could be handy. Links down for driving, links up, stand on the tool box for cleaning windscreen.

Had a measure up of the body, should have got a pic here, the Xerion already had four 80mm ball couplings to mount onto so I’m going to get the female bits and use those. Might save some welding and cutting of steel and look smarter.

It also has an 80mm Scharmuller ball drawbar so I’m thinking of getting the cup for my trailer. Might be getting ahead of myself here though.

I obviously have miracle hands. Seat wasn’t working, which I was a bit peaved about, but miraculously it’s all going again. Luxury.

Radio doesn’t work though. Never mind, if that’s the biggest problem I’ll be lucky.

Forgot, it wasn’t the biggest problem.

Took a guard off and found a very worn gearbox mount. Bugger. Double bugger, same on the other side, both rears knackered. Well, half knackered. Took them off, turned them round, fitted back. Better but not perfect. Massive job to completely replace. Order parts sometime, job for winter.

Again, if that’s the biggest problem I’ll be lucky.

Might start getting Mdrive bits off next.

Don’t worry about the radio Pete. It would all have been broadcast in German!

Really pleased that you got this saddle Trac, I think it will have been a cheaper and better long term job as it’ll still be a genuine saddle Trac rather than a converted one when the time comes to part with it.

All the best with the rest of the upgrades.

Part with it???

For all the strife I’m hoping it sticks with me through sickness and health, rich times or poor!!!!

Bit more progress. Spent all day yesterday taking all the rate controller and GPS off the Multidrive. All either colour coded or lettered to slot back together swiftly and easily on the Xerion. Yeah right. Despite all being laid out beautifully in a big box you just know that in no time the whole lot will just be like one of those big balls of baling string that’s burst out of its bag.

(I say all day...... got a bit distracted by our mate Matt who was here getting my old AEC milk tanker going again after yet another head gasket failure, so I might have had to give in and take her for an essential test drive.)

Anyway, onwards and upwards, getting the hydraulic pipes off today and hopefully get the body lifted off.

Mounting sockets ordered, should be here Thursday.

But he didn’t say which particular Thursday

Excellent stuff. What a thread- it’s almost as addictive as project binky! Never assume there’s no photos needed- if it’s not too much an inconvenience snap away and get them on here!

It’ll be a job to get the sockets welded exactly correctly on the bredal so they all slot in perfectly together!? How are you planning to go about it?

Good to see you forging ahead Pete, you’ll soon be done.
When it’s finished are you going to have a big knees up for its inaugural run and splash a bottle of something fizzy over the hull?

A bit like what they did for the another one of history’s mega movers, the titanic.
