Project Xerion.

No real Xerion progress today, but we stripped the body right down and fitted and new conveyor belt, checked all the bearings and refitted.

Took all day but it’ll never be easier.

Too hot for that sort of work!

I’m trying.

I’m not enjoying rolling around on the concrete any more.

Hopefully get it aboard tomorrow. Plenty of headscratching to do then so probably won’t make much actual progress but we should know where we are going.

Won’t get much done next week because we promised the kids a few days out, but it would be good to know where I’m going.

Got a few bits going on next week that other folks are doing. Pipes, wiring etc.

Not got very far today.

Took the Multidrive made brackets off the other day. Whilst cleaning them up with the grinder today ready for welding I noticed a crack. Then another. Then another. In short, the whole thing needed cleaning up, cracks repairing, boss pates cutting and the whole thing strengthening up. I'm amazed how it managed to hold the body up in the air. Bloody shocking.

On the other hand, cutting a couple of Bredal made brackets off the under side of the machine took forever. The steel was tough as hell and the welds were hellish deep.

All ready to be welded up next job, but as mentioned before we are taking the kids on a day or two out next week, so It'll just have to wait.

Slowly, slowly.
