Just the ticket!
Just the ticket!
Does look high. Perhaps the reason you don't see any with sprayers mounted ontop. It does.
It is great in many respects
Not enough payload on the Mogs for lime sadly! Shame as they're a nice yoke.Would one of the larger Unimogs be a option, given that they can have central tyre inflation and four wheel steering ?

Would need some sort of saddle tanks that straddled chassis.
Wonder what chassis height is of a lite trac.
Okay probably a stupid idea. But if thinking about going trailed. How about a 5th wheel coupling on xerion and attach spreader with swan neck hitch.
I'm just trying to think what most of these xerions do, and there most popular application seems to be putting on liquid waste with large tankers mounted as I propose.
Save you buying a tractor if going trailed. Doesn't solve loader problem.
How much does the Xerion Carry Then ?I would love a Mog. A lottery dream would be to use one like a car.
But, as said, not enough payload. If I had half a dozen spreaders and could justify one for all the small jobs I would have one in a heartbeat.
Lite Trac chassis is quite high, can't remember off the top of my head though.
There is a local contractor near here with a Lite-Trac lime spreader.
Has the Knight forward control Fastrac been mentioned yet? The Tier 5s have a higher payload, I wonder if you could do the same with an 8330?
No Wonder she swayes a Bit.Xerion will carry 9 1/2 tonnes in that body. I planned on extending the body forward to carry another 1 1/2 tonnes which it would cope with easily.
To be honest, since I’ve had it we’ve had two messing about autumn seasons so haven’t had a really good big heap of lime to go at, but it would spread 300t on a half decent day without too much sweat.
The FC Fastrac only has an 8t rear axle. The big Fastrac is only two wheel steer.
Just asked him now, The larger one carries 6 ton on the flat.No Wonder she swayes a Bit.
She'd be lying on her side here with half that on.
The little Mogu that spreads for us carries a couple of ton, The Big ones a lot More. The larger one isnt allowed up this end as its too top heavy.
Had a look on website if anything it looks higher than xerion.Lite Trac chassis is quite high, can't remember off the top of my head though.

Yes quiteI have to say, fair play to @Cab-over Pete for coming on here and admitting openly he has gone down the wrong road after such investment and effort!
A lesser man would just have quietly disappeared out the thread!
When you got a Big A first was it just right or have you improved it over the years to get it just right ?Well, I suppose in a nutshell, that’s exactly what has happened!!!!
But you’ve all been a great source of help and advice while deciding to buy it and building the thing it seemed only right to see it through to the end!
Mind you, I haven’t sold it yet!
Quite often I think I'm glad I stuck with old and inferior rather than going for new and improved, quite often the improved versions are a let down.Yes quite
I suspect most of us have bought a machine and after a bit wished we hadn't bothered
@Henarar they are pretty much perfect for my job. When I rebuild them I make tweaks like improving the cab and uprating the hydraulic pump, but they are still more or less standard.
That as someone looking in from outside is the problem the Xerion isn't right and some of whats wrong you can't do much about, the multi wasn't right but I think the problems could have been solved more easy@Henarar they are pretty much perfect for my job.
