Project Zetros

Yes, transfer box all sorted too and the pto works when static. It’s a bit chicken and egg but I need to find out exactly what oil flow I require as a maximum for the Bredal body. Only then can Rygor Mercedes set the parameters of the system to ensure it will supply enough oil at all revs in all gears. At the moment it would only work the body static or at a constant set speed, which is obviously useless.

All of that is beyond me so I’m in the hands of others for a while.

We're all different, I will just say what I think as usual. 🤦‍♂️ but I don't like the graphics on the side of the cab.

Sorry. I know Pete won't be offended. Or bothered what I think.:ROFLMAO:

I do like the lyrics on the back.

Bit of an update. Nothing major to report but I’ve been getting numerous little jobs done the last few days. Mounted the camera for hitching the trailer.

Another one to keep an eye on the spreading discs.

Also fitted the toolbox, finished the front mud flaps, had the cab in eleventy squidillion pieces with all the head lining and trim out to enable running wires through, fitted the in cab camera, traced all the wiring for the gps into the cab, found one of the cab floor sections to be damp and smelly so sorted that, removed the off side lining from the cab to put a window in to help sight at road junctions (bloke coming in a couple of weeks), fitted a steering wheel spinner (took bloody ages ☹️) fitted two flashing beacons, wired in and ready, made numerous brackets, lost my rag with my shitty welder, threw it calmly out of the workshop fully intent on it breaking so I wasn’t tempted to use it again (that worked a treat), bought a new one, smiled as I enjoyed welding again for the first time in 4 years, sandblasted, primed and painted all the brackets, fitted them all, including air brake services to the rear and also light socket (had to change plans with that), had Robin the air con man out to sort a leak and get it chilling, fitted a couple of new decals, finally decided where I wanted the main switch to run the bed conveyor which meant removing the centre console, drilling the panel (lots of swearing), then refitting, ran over a piece of trim, repaired that, made a small shovel with a plastic blade to clean the inside of the body on wet days so that a steel shovel wouldn’t be used and scratch my paint, made a hanging bracket and fitted that inside the body.

Amongst all that, went several rounds with the twunts in Germany who sent it here with several problems, despite telling me all was right with it, meaning several trips to Rygor Mercedes at Nuneaton so they could sort it all out. After many, many arguments the tossers decided graciously they would pay for half the work done. Nathan at Rygor has been top notch.

Until all that was sorted we couldn’t test hydraulic pressures and flows. Now we know what we’ve got (with hugely appreciated advice and help from Tony Levitt at South Cave Tractors) I have finally been able to order a valve the size of my car to work all the spreader functions. Guess what? My bracket pre made won’t do the job, so back to welding again soon.

Window man, gps man, hydraulic man and tyres all happening in the next couple of weeks hopefully.

I must be chuffing mad. I hope it works!!

Lots of thanks to Dave Symons The Cornish Magician, Thomas Burton, Tony Levitt at South Cave, our very own @Mr Happy at Pearson Hydraulic in Norwich, moral support from @Shovelhands, @Kevtherev and many other members and my long suffering lovely wife for putting up with my frequent moaning and despondency.

Still masses to do.........wheats in ear now.....June ticking on.....

Sounds fantastic, pity you didnt film a documentary of the last 5? years machine development. Would be well worth a subscription.

Forgot.....

Made light covers to protect from stones off the discs, re-routed hydraulic pipes, adapted the door mounted mirrors, replaced a couple of air brake pipes, went to bed, couldn’t sleep with it all bouncing around in my head, fitted a rear work light and one in the body, wired them in, faffed about with the central tyre inflation, gave up, made and fitted some brace bars to improve the hitch......

There’s more, I just can’t remember....
