Project Zetros

This what is directly under the main front cross member of the Bredal, so as you can see, no room under that to fix any kind of mounting inside the chassis.
You can see there is room down the outside of the chassis to do something and there is more room on the other side.

Lots of room at the back so this is where we will fix it rigidly.

I was considering using something like these small top link units but instead I think I will use the Leisinger ball joints that were on the Xerion. They are maybe a little on the heavy side but better that than too small. Plus, the top links need a fair bit of vertical room, half as much again than the ball joints.
You can see the big dark grey cross member has been used and welded up at least twice already.
Recycling at its best!

Pete look how an amazon cirrius drill hopper is fixed to chassis ,2 rigid points at back ,then a pivot like affair at front , to take the flex

Used these for unimog uprated springs but it was along time ago
or off the shelf same as horsch sprinter maybe
double each side

Thank you, I’ll take a look at that. I kind of recognise the name from sometime in the past.

If you are using springs at the front I would use compression springs with a bolt through them as I don’t think extension springs will work correctly for your job, they will allow two much movement I reckon. We have springs holding our sprayer frame on and if I remember correctly I may have sourced them from KRM

Ok, brackets close together and a spring extending downward? There is a similar thing on the Big A, although extending upward, however the chassis doesn’t need to twist so it doesn’t do a lot.

And put it on weigh cells
If Pete is the same as us most of the lime is gps spread which makes the weigh cells fairly pointless, lime specific weight doesn’t vary much in a batch along with a positive feed on a belt through a known size door makes the job very accurate anyway. If blanket spreading it may be a gimmick to keep customers happy but in reality not much better just more components to go wrong

I would look at using Aeon hollow rubber springs with a bolt through the middle, they have a more progressive action than coil springs and wouldn't need as much pre load tension on them, and they have plenty of deflection for when the chassis twists
